Being new to Vail, I was unsure who to contact when I was faced with a legal situation regarding the recovery of my security deposit. In October 2019, I was pulled over for illegal lane change and refused to provide roadside tests/breathalyzer with my son in the car. I was arrested and booked into jail for DUI, and child abuse. Unfortunately he was extremely over priced and does not do his due diligence. We requested the body camera footage from day one. He even went as far as to tell us it usually does not exist. After realizing he was not working for us we ultimately fired him and we beat the case on our own. I observed him for months plea client after client out never requesting to bring matters to trial. To quote Mr. Moorhead “hey it’s a business”. The red flag we ignored in the beginning was the fact he told us we can leave the state while on bond with out the courts permission. To quote him once again “you can’t get in trouble anyways”. Save your money and time and find another lawyer unless you want the bare minimum. Good luck with your matters!

There is a reason Kent is highly rated and I used him based on upon his ratings/reviews. It should be noted that Kent works ALL the cases himself. At the time of this review, he does not pass the case to another lawyer who merely works for him. You are not just a number, but someone he cares about getting the best result. Kent responded extremely well and often worked long hours to do so considering his busy schedule. You still need to be patient and it may take a day or so to respond. He is very aware of his clients individual needs and details of the case. I know I am bit of stickler for lots of information and detail as will be evident by this review. He has a VERY strong feel for what the likely outcome of a case will be and his assessment was very accurate on a case that could have went several directions with moving parts. Fortunately, going to trial was not required in my case but I would feel very confident in his ability should the need arise. *Note to anyone involved in a legal matter: More information about the case and circumstances is always better! Provide him all the details. Email is best so he can re-read the information. When your lawyers asks for something, do it as quickly as is reasonable. Lots of aspects can be time dependent. As with any lawyer, help them to help you. Be proactive in your case. If you end up being sentenced, and I CANNOT stress this enough... DO EVERYTHING ORDERED AND TAKE IT SERIOUSLY within the time frames the court ordered. And do not delay because your window to complete can take longer than anticipated. Make a list and start working to check boxes off ASAP. Failure of even one aspect often imposes penalties drastically more harsh than the total of what was originally imposed. I know a person who didn't take their UA's serious in a DUI case and initially they had no jail time and ended up with 30 days for failure to comply to give just one example. The system is loading with similar stories. Stay on top of it, do what you need to do and move on with your life. I wish you the best. Please remember, it will get better.
