I believe Mr. Kirschner is a very intelligent, very experienced defense lawyer. The problem is, I think he's either gotten to the point where he's overworked and doesn't have time for you, or he's just starting to care less than he used to. I could be wrong; I'm not really sure what the case is. I am sure that my husband sat in the SL County Jail for over 2 months, waitingfor his attorney to arrive. I had to get a different attorney just 12 days before his hearing, because Mr. Kirschner never did visit the jail even once to consult with his client. It was really sad, because I was out of state and couldn't do anything...in the end, I literally tried to beg him to go, but he would not respond. Sadly, things did not end well for my poor husband. "People don't care how much you know or who you know, until they know how much you care."

I hired Mr. Garland to file an appeal after the public defender failed me on fighting a resisting without violence charge. He is knowledgeable, strait forward and professional. He was very good at oral arguments and fast thinker. I retained Bill Umansky to do some preliminary work on a criminal case. Usually, I never trust attorneys. They always seem to have an attitude, think they are better than you, and only care about taking your money. This experience was the complete opposite of that!! Bill was really great. He has a great sense of humor, he treated me like a human being, and talked to me like I was an equal and not a lower form of life. He did exactly what he said he was going to do and when the time came up that I could have chosen to pay more money to him to continue retaining him, he told me that he didn't want to take my money for no reason, and that he felt that I should just wait awhile and then see if I needed to retain him again later. I was really surprised that he actually was so honest and straightforward and did not just try to get more money out of me. Talking to Bill was very comfortable and he made me feel better about the horrible situation I was in. Most importantly, he didn't lie to me.
