Used up my legal benefits before finishing any work other than my divorce was filed, which I learned later it could be done easily through self help center. Her legal assistant would contact me via phone calls or emails multiple times for same misunderstanding she made, then charged me for every contact including the ones she apologized for her mistakes. Refused to give me back copies of the files that I submitted. Made falsely documents and then rushed me to sign them. Evan charged my legal insurance, her assistant charged my personal deposit account, called retainer account. After I used the self help service, learned that the some work they had charged me for was no different than doubled dipping. Ignored my email and missed my first CMC, I personally showed up at first court date, but it was some one else representing my case whom I did not know, and that attorney did not know I was at the court since we have never met each other...It messed up. After I ended their service, found out my 15 hours or $3000 legal insurance benefits was used up by her, my deposit account was charged by her assistant was close to $2000, total charges were close to $5000, what was done? Self help center showed me later that nothing else was done besides the divorce was filed which cost less $500. This was my experience. Quite a pain while going through divorce hardship.

I met with Ms. Evans for the first time on July of 2017 to help me with my amicable divorce case. I was very impressed with how detailed and sincere she was. During our meeting, she asked me detailed questions about my situation and took notes the entire time. She was very efficient in preparing the documents for my divorce case that my husband who had a very unpleasant experience with his lawyer couldn’t help but compliment Ms. Evans on her honesty and efficiency and told me he wished he had her representing him. My divorce though amicable was very emotional experience for me. Having Ms. Evans representing me made it a whole lot easier to deal with. She was very considerate thought the entire process and got things done in a timely manner. She responded to my inquiries fast and gave me detailed advice. You need a great family law attorney? You need an attorney to fight for you? Lindsey Bannerman is your go to!!! I found myself at the lowest place of my life, going through an addiction to alcohol and I lost my time with my child. I felt like the biggest loser and the most horrible father!! Lindsey was honest and up front with me, from the start. I had A LOT of trash on my street that I had to clean up. Lindsey guided me along my journey, was extremely patient and very understanding as well. When she was called upon all she did was hit grand slams!! I was hoping she would hit homeruns, but never expected her to hit grand slams. She fought for me through my child custody battles and aloud me to get more and more time with each and every court date. All she and we did was WIN!!!! I couldn't be any more happier and pleased with Lindsey and her team. Extremely professional, always polite and on top of my case every time I had an issue or question. Calling Lindsey Bannerman to help me was one of the best decisions I have ever made. She is a wonderful person. My situation was very lengthy and complicated. I had called previous lawyers and even had hired a lawyer before her. While other lawyers did give me some great heartfelt advice, they were not interested in helping me, as they said they felt like it was going to be a long road and not enough compensation for their work. I almost gave up hope. I am a single mother with a son who has special medical needs and I had been fighting a custody battle as well. I prayed hard on what to do when I felt my options were running out and the little money I had, was wasting away with no solutions. I had a moment of despair, and literally prayed for hours on what to do. I woke up the next morning remembering someone had told me her name years ago, and I picked up the phone. She saw me in her office, and said she felt my story, and understood I needed a legal voice, and would be glad to help me and see this through. I cried. I was so happy I had finally gotten to where I needed to be after many months of research. I wish I would have called sooner! Her staff has been so helpful, and get back quickly with any questions you have. They never once made me feel silly with any questions I had. I have only worked with Sean for a very short time, in fact I haven’t even gone back to court yet after speaking to Sean and yet I am compelled to write a heartfelt melt message to let anyone suffering through a bad and traumatic experience know what a true gem this man is. He has given me great advice, helped me through tough decisions, scary situations etc. already. He has always answered my calls/emails, made me feel both safe and important and has made sure I was well taken care of. He is kind and smart and clearly cares for the people he works with and for. I couldn’t express the gratitude I feel for someone who will hear you and help you in your hardest times. If anyone is looking for a company who will take the time to care for you as an individual Sean and his team are the right fit. I hope I don’t have too many issues going forward to need their services but I trust them fully in their capabilities and honesty and integrity. It's unfortunate we have to enlist Sean's office's assistance again for family law, but it gives me great relief knowing we have Sean's office back on my husband's side. Sean is very good at what he does and makes sure to not waste his client's nor the court's time with ongoing nonsense. He sets up a call to talk over your expectations, his expectations (which has ALWAYS included more items we would have missed without him), and then gets to work. He is well aware of each side's feelings and knows exactly when to put on the pressure and when to pull off the accelerator. If you are reading this (sorry you are in your situation), know it only gets better with Sean's office on your side.

Kristen Sellers and Kris Jackman were a joy to work with. Brando the young disabled man that I was assisting and advocating for needed an attorney on very short notice. Kristen cleared her schedule to meet with us and then appear in court with Brandon right away. She is unusually smart and attentive to detail. She took the time to understand Brandon and his situation completely. She familiarized herself with every detail of his legal situation and her advice was perfection. Kristen Sellers did a great job dealing with a difficult ex-girlfriend. Her main task was to get a temporary restraining order dropped, and she got it done. She was prepared to go to trial. Long story short, the case ended being settled before trial. If I have issues in the future, I will be putting her back on the clock.

Working with Brianna and Jacob Benguerel was a real pleasure. I came in with a problem of the ex-husband not wanting to pay me money he owed me from that sale of a property and they were able to not only get me the money that was owed to me but able to put a lien on the house that he was trying to sell in order to get that money. The situation was very time sensitive and they worked really hard to make sure that I got what I needed. Their attention to detail as well as their professionalism were greatly appreciated. Brianna was very personable and was always there to calm my anxiety as well as answer any questions that I had. They definitely made the process that I was so terrified of a lot easier. Definitely would recommend them for any family law needs that you may have.

Where do I begin? Separations in itself can be not only stressful, exhausting and embarrassing to say the least! But then having to deal with an unnecessary battle over children who innocently have no say in any of it. I was almost stripped away from time with my best friend.. my son, 7 years of age who knew nothing but being by his fathers side all his life. And despite what drama, bickering and false accusations followed from a nasty separation and bitterness, I have Jacob from Family Law to thank for going above and beyond to make sure my son still had his father in his life. It was a circus show of a ridiculously uncalled for conflict on the other party’s behalf, but in the end morality, humanity and due diligence From Jacob favored my fight for my son. Thank you again, I’m forever grateful for your services!

I recently retained San Joaquin Family Law to represent me in a custody modification. Mr. Bengueral was very helpful in answering any questions I may have had and representing me in our current case. The paralegal, Breanna, was great in answering any questions I had, returning phone calls, and providing me the most up to date information. IHI was not 100% thrilled with the outcome, however due to Covid-19, I had my court date via video conference and it made it a bit difficult to discuss with Me. Bengueral during the hearing to address other issues the previous party had not brought up before this. I do understand this is not his fault and would choose him to represent me again in the future if necessary.

Just rude! 1st we won’t take a case about family law. Then questions my county as if I shouldn’t have called there and we live in the same city. Then a long hold after I convince him to ask the actual attorney since you’re not. Lazy unprofessional & lacks values. Extremely disappointed would never recommend. All to come back and say we’re busy call back next week.

Sandra Myers has been my attorney for several years now and has helped me and my son tremendously. She has always gone above and beyond, and shown a high level of commitment to helping us. In addition, she conducts herself with such a high degree of integrity and class...I am so happy I found her years ago. Recently Alexandra Myers took over my case and represented me throughout the course of a trial. She was very organized, focused and diligent, and showed enthusiasm that inspired me to stay optimistic throughout the entire process. She was also extremely resourceful in gathering information and prepping for the trial. In the courtroom she too conducted herself with professionalism and grace, and to say that I am grateful to have her as my attorney is an understatement. I was referred to Sandra Myers by no less than 3 former clients of hers who spoke very highly of her and the entire office. From my very first contact with the office 3 years ago until now, I've received what I feel is the best representation in my very high-conflict case. Everyone from the receptionists, paralegals and Sandra Myers herself have all been professional, timely, courteous and efficient. Every phone call and email has been returned promptly and every issue has been addressed. They are fair and have been extremely helpful through what has otherwise been an extremely difficult situation. Staff works together cohesively for me and I feel they are honest in trying to give me the best legal counsel in my situation, often working above and beyond hours to provide assistance.

To be honest, not satisfied overall. $5k retainer upfront for representation, then when it dipped below $2k another $5k to maintain funds. Divorce was brick wall after brick wall and I felt Myers acquiesced too much to opposing counsel. Even "boiler-plated" someone else's paperwork to me forgetting to take out a mentioned auto accident I never had. Ex-wife wound up with everything -- I wound up with $0. Had to leave CA -- couldn't afford it on my retirement. Got saddled with $4k in taxes, and another $20k in moving and relocation expenses. And here's the kicker: when your retainer dips below that $2k threshold, man does Myers want that reboot of cash immediately...and, yet, when I had $1730.85 leftover in my trust, it took 2 months of excuses and explanations before they finally refunded my funds from representation. When told to send the check FedEx Overnight, their excuse? "Our practice is to send regular mail". No tracking number? Not even Priority Mail? In my opinion, they are NOT divorce lawyers but paper pushers through the court system. They did NOTHING for me but take $8300 I didn't have in the first place.

It took me a few weeks to write this review, but I have to make everyone aware of this office. My ex who happens to be a narcissist filed to go back to court based off tons of lies he made up about me. He was granted custody pending trial. His schedule that he had consisted of 3 days every week and I provided transportation. This lady sent me to court with an inexperienced lawyer. She agreed for me the primary parent since birth to only have my children 24 hours one week, which is from 7:30 p.m-7:30 p.m the next night. I work and they go to school, so of course that’s not really any time for us to spend together. I get two weekends a month. The attorney also had comprehensive issues as well. I had to constantly repeat things that she had wrong multiple times. These people have no care in the world for anyone. She tried to explain, but how do you explain this? This is basically a office that encourage people to allow people to push them over, and accept it. You should never be inconsiderate of a excellent mother and her children. If they knew this was the plan, they should’ve let me go somewhere else. I expressed multiple times how uncomfortable the environment is there with him, and they accepted that. I don’t appreciate this poor service at all, especially due to me putting everything together. She literally just had to show up to court, and she never even presented anything in court. If you love your children don’t go here. They also offered a partial refund, but I have yet to see anything returned yet. Don’t go here at all.

I hired An attorney at this office to help me fight a case for Full physical custody for my children. The father already had a violent background and had been charged with domestic violence multiple times, so i figured this would’ve been an easy custody battle. He presented to court my kids and I lived in an unsafe environment, so they gave us 60 days to leave the ONLY place we had to live. My children and I ended up homeless for MONTHS. My attorney told me that my kids could ABSOLUTELY NOT be at the household we had lived in otherwise I’d lose custody. This entire time since that court hearing the father of my kids has been pawning them off to that same household he said was unsafe, on HIS weekends AND behind my back. Mind you, he only gets them TWO weekends out of the month. I thought they were not allowed there?????? I was told by MY ATTORNEY I’d lose custody of my kids if they went to this household!!!!!! Now every time I find out he took them there I can’t call the cops because When I did they said there is no paperwork Filed in the system stating that they can not be there. I Feel played! I wasted money on this case for nothing! The attorney typed up a 7 page declaration. She did not present not ONE thing in court to fight against my case. I felt she was more on the other party’s side than mine. I feel like I should have got my money back. Now they are charging me over $500 Of extra charges for BS contact with this attorney over phone or through emails. The system is corrupt. Thank god the father canceled the last hearing that was scheduleD because I would NOT want this attorney to represent me again, I rather represent myself!

Dianne was referred to my sister by three different attorneys, be aware if you want custody of your children DO NOT HIRE THIS WOMAN. She will send in a brand new attorney with zero knowledge of the case at hand, this woman sent in a different lawyer the day of my sister's court hearing. If you can afford the top dollar attorney please go with that choice. This was a very unfortunate situation, I wonder if my sister were white if she would have been treated differently.

I've not been able to become their client, but had a phone consultation with Lisa, was reffered by a friend who has had a great experience. I was offered good service and Lisa spoke to me listened to me and my case was really complicated so she offered me another phone consultation for free after analyzing some documents. In total she gave me 3-4 phone calls lasting over an hour and I only paid once for 30 mins. I've been to every law firm in stockton and have not found any other like Dianne Butler & associates. Highly recommended for family law
