As a single, first-time mom, I’ve reached out to Rebecca several times for a consultation in how to navigate potential issues with my daughter’s father. I’m always worried that I’m talking too much, or rambling on about information that’s not important. The Divorce process sucks in CA but Rick and his team notably Leanna the paralegal were fantastic. It was a long process years due to unforeseen problems and wasn't cheap however, cheap was not the goal. The goal is to get a decision that is the most beneficial to you and your family and thats what I received. Some cases are more complex than others and complexity drives up the cost mine was like a Rubiks Dodecahedron. Overall the communication was a 10. I never felt like I was in the dark. The decision I got was a 9/10 sometimes you have to negotiate. I also used Rick for a trust and that was a much less arduous journey.

During an extremely emotional custody battle regarding my young daughter ,I was so lucky to find the law office of Rick Banks . I had a wonderful outcome and the office worked extremely hard with a short notice . Michele was amazing and I highly recommend her in easing your mind during a time of need . She was amazing from start to finish. Rick was extremely knowledgable and helped me come up with a vistation plan that suited my daughters needs . It was a win/win for everyone involved . I was referred to Mr. Banks from a co-worker who had used him recently. At first I was a little concerned because he seemed like too much of a nice guy to be an effective divorce attorney. I was pleasantly surprised when we went into court and Mr. Banks ripped my ex a new one!! Not only was I able to get full custody of my kids, but Mr. Banks convinced the judge that my ex should only get supervised visits because of how he had been acting. Bottom line: don't be worried about Mr. Banks' easy going demeanor when you first meet him, because if you have to go to court, he's the guy you want on your side.

It was great to deal with Rick and his staff. The divorce process itself was extremely strong and emotional, but having Rick gave me the confidence that I would get everything I deserved and needed to move on with my life. After 9 months of back and forth non-sense from my ex and his attorney, he was finally able to get them to settle in court, before even going to trial. I can't express enough how grateful I am that we were able to retain Zeppy Attashian in a very emotional custody case involving the very fervent wishes of my stepdaughter. We were having no luck with other attorneys, and none of them seemed to care what she was going through or her desires for her own life. Zeppy immediately put us at ease, showed care and compassion for our complicated situation (we retained her from out of state to represent us there). The moment I walked through their office doors and was pleasantly greeted and I knew I had made the right choice. Zeppy KNOWS what she’s was doing. When I hired Mr. Cavin I had been trying to battle for myself in court trying to get back four children that had wrongfully been taken away. My Ex earned over $100,000 a year and I had no earnings. He had hired a lawyer and had representation while I had tried to defend myself. I lost everything without a lawyer. I had been a homemaker for 9 years and he emptied our bank accounts leaving me barefoot and homeless. He got a restraining order that kicked me out of the house, despite the fact he knocked me out in my home, claiming I was unconscious because I was drunk. I was in jail for 19 days until all charges were dismissed by a Judge at the first hearing. But my Ex and his attorney concealed that from the Family Court and got 100% custody. When I first contacted Mr. Cavin I didn’t have the funds to hire him, but he talked with me on the phone for 90 minutes trying to encourage and educate me anyway. A few months later I borrowed the money and that was when my life turned around. I now have my children half the time, and I am working on getting full custody. I hadn’t seen my children for almost two years when Mr. Cavin and I worked together and gathered the evidence to prove I had been set up on a false Domestic Violence charge by my husband. The evidence showed the Judge he was a liar and I now have three days every week with my 4 children. Mr. Cavin also got the bogus restraining order dismissed and got me child support and alimony that had been withheld for 2 years. It is retroactive, and my Ex owes me thousands, AND was ordered to pay my attorney’s fees. Mr. Cavin and his staff handled my case with the utmost professional attention. As a client I feel that had it not been for Mr. Cavin I would never have been believed by the Court. Mr. Cavin truly has been my champion fighting a battle for me that only he could have won. The true care and concern I have received from Mr. Cavin has extended beyond my case and the court room. During my case I graduated from college. Mr Cavin advertises himself as being well known by court staff and he is right, everybody knows him. For more information look him up before you hire him. I didn’t. As a lawyer, this is my experience - he charged me for every little conversation we had. Even the free consultation is only for half an hour, after that clock is running. If you text or email you get charged, inclu for all personal conversations about his health. What you pay for retainer is nothing compare to what comes after - sometimes he will not answer phone calls, mail, email for weeks. Court date would approach and he would be no where to find. Imagine if you have something important coming up, like for example the custody of your child and you need to file papers but you can get a hold of your lawyer. His wife is the office assistant/manager and they both get sick together ( that’s what I been told once) and don’t answer any of their phones -he purposely asked the court that we come back for another hearing after I asked him not too. I was ok with what the court ordered. He told me that he is the lawyer and I can’t tell him what to do. But by coming to court again I had to pay him a big lump of money so it benefited him. - most judges don’t like him. So if the judge doesn’t like your lawyer think of how your case may turn out. -he is not a great public speaker and worse he did not come prepared. When judge asked him to summarize what we asked he was not able to do so. - I just got another bill from him and realized that there were charges in there that I paid long time ago. I never kept track of things. So if you decide to go at him, keep track of times you talk and charges in the bill to make sure you are not overcharged. This is my experience with Mr Cavin

In America, we are innocent until being proven guilty. It has been over five years and this man still has not been prosecuted. Why do you think that is? Your comments are incorrect. You do not know the merits of the case, therefore your flippant remarks are not only guesswork but are libelous. You should be cautious about what you say, especially in writing. I called 5 minutes before 12 wanting to know if they could assist in a divorce. The woman was not very clear on the phone like she had no idea what i was talking about and then not even a minute into the conversation; she pressed the mute button and acted like she could not hear me. she forced me to disconnect and then when I did, it went straight to voice mail. not professional at all

I would like to share my experience of going through the divorce with the readers, before I knew about this firm and Casey, I went to another firm in Merced which was recommended as a prominent attorney, his wife as his PA asked for lots of documents and forms to complete which took me while and with help of other I did , they asked for lots of money to start with I see to their demands over and over, kept me waiting for several years , and asked for more and more money, any time I went to ask for the progress on my paid time I learned more about his family birth , accidents, divorce and death than my own case, finally I refused to pay more money until I see him in the court, he responded by giving back piles of papers which was supposed to be my file and showed me the door. I start searching and my son recommended Casey, I really believe she is not just the attorney with exceedingly professional , caring, knowledge, organized and readiness skills qualities, I believe she is an angel, when I saw her and my file was organized in different folder I noticed most essential part of my documents were missing, but she comforted me and with friendly attitude tried to sort my problem, with fraction of money I paid to the other firm within 6 months with readiness beyond my believe she solved my problem, I would like to say thank you my angel you are excellent.

Finding a competent child custody attorney can be a daunting task. With that in mind, I began my search for someone who was worthy of listening to my concerns, preparing the necessary paperwork in a timely manner, and then going to court and battle for custody of my children. Curtis has delivered the goods. Curtis and I have had numerous phone and in person conversations. Curtis will focus on the important items to discuss that are relevant to my case. Curtis has turned in all paperwork and documents when needed and has never missed a deadline. In the courtroom, Curtis is "solid" and focused. Curtis maintains a high level of professionalism, has good rapport with the judge, and asks the appropriate questions in a manner that is not demeaning or condescending. Although I have another court date ahead, and not by Curtis' choice (Curtis has tried to resolve the matter numerous times), I have no hesitation to returning to court having Curtis represent me and my children.

Do not be tricked with these bought 5 start reviews, like I was. I had to seek my own legal council and fire him for his negligence. His staff lost paper work! which resulted in a horrible mediation outcome! He attempted to send legal agreements via email without my authorization. Once confronted, his words were "it was an accident!" His defensive strategy was very feeble! The lies of a sleazy car salesmen were sickeningly present! It now makes sense because I found out he used to be a door to door salesmen. His charisma of assertion, charm, and trustworthiness is strong, but deceptive! He got me 27% custody, tried to side with the other lawyer regarding division of assets and debts. He also offered half equity of my truck to my ex wife! Bottom line is, you better have a great deal of patience when dealing with a empty man of this kind! BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE!!!!!

My now husband used him for a divorce case. Should’ve know to walk away when he didn’t even shake our hands at initial meeting. Only hired him because of these reviews. I too am shocked at them. He lagged on replying his paralegal or assistant was clueless. I remember one day she didn’t even know we had court thank goodness I called to ask about it. Didn’t do anything he said he would do. Literally dragged out the case a year. Drained all the money we paid. Such a waste. I wouldn’t use this attorney again if he was free or the last one on earth. You’re better off representing yourself.
