Shea is a real gem. I can't recommend her enough. She is intelligent, experienced, and always steady and professional. I really feel she always had my best interests at heart, and had my back when I needed that so much. She was also flexible and understanding of my personal chaos and uncertainty during this difficult time. And best of all, she does her own work. I was never passed off to a paralegal or a secretary. All my correspondence was directly with her, and I never had to get anyone else up to speed on my case, or feel like I was just another case file in a big firm. And all this for relatively reasonable rates. I really can't think of a downside to my experience with her.

I wanted to take the time to give an accurate reflection of my experience. Literally she made things so much easier for me. My divorce was a bit messy and emotional. She helped me to see the process, understand it and target what I wanted out of this in the end. Because of Shea’s help I was able to have a less chaotic experience than other people I know have had with their divorces and not using Shea. My life is back on track and I don’t regret a thing. Facing the prospect of a divorce is one of life's biggest challenges. Engaging in this process with Conscious Family turned a potentially polarizing experience into a more compassionate experience. Everyone on the team are professional, fair & compassionate. They modeled this behavior for us & gracefully steered us to an equitable, fair and reasonable settlement. Rather than falling into the trap of a potentially adversarial process with individual lawyers, we chose this option. It's pricey but worth it as the added benefit of a more intentional process served to help me heal from the divorce. Leaving a marriage with dignity is a far better option than hashing it out with opposing lawyers. Brent Warkentine is an extremely good lawyer and his staff are wonderful. I feel very fortunate that he was willing to take on my case on short notice. My ex and I had decided we didn’t need an attorney to handle our divorce, but at the last minute I found out that my ex had hired an attorney and I needed a lawyer immediately. Brent was able to schedule me in and guided me through the legal process so I wouldn’t get steamrolled by opposing council. He helped me through all the hoops and helped me to make the right choices for me and my son that were not based on emotions. I have hired Rebecca Pescador on a few different occasions to represent me and help me through some personally difficult legal matters. Katie and her team were awesome! Despite me having them join the party late they got right to business in my defense. She was upfront and honest about what we can avoid to save me money if possible. She told me what was beneficial and what wasn't. Furthermore, I was forced to drop council to pay marital bills (which she advised) as a benefit to all parties. Then offered guidance as a more cost effective option. Even after Katie called me the morning prior to a hearing as a courteous human being and directed me on what was immediately required for the hearing. She even went so far as to edit my response, file with the courts which I had no way of doing and suggested that she would only bill me an hour to prepare it. This is a huge testament to the overall integrity and professionalism of the practice which is hard to find in any profession. Thanks!

My soon to be ex partner called this office to arrange for an amicable separation and was given a slew of misinformation regarding the divorce process. He was told absolutely absurd lies about policies and division of property designed to incite ill feelings that would lead to him hiring them as divorce attorneys rather than having them file simple paperwork for dissolution without litigation. Luckily, we spoke to two other law offices that set the record straight and have continued with our very straightforward and amicable separation despite all attempts of this office to derail and inflame it. This is an absolutely disgusting display of parasitic and predatory behavior against people in pain with emotions and frustrations running high.

The Cossitt law firm saved my children and myself. Not only was I only partially employed (as I was a stay at home mom), I was going through a contentious divorce that was getting more complicated by the day. After switching to this firm, Tom Cossitt became our champion. My children are safe now. They are happy now. Tom is the hardest working attorney I’ve ever met.
