Long story short: I had to retain Michelle for a divorce because another local attorney horribly represented my case, shambled any defense, and left me severely disadvantaged for trial (which the case should have never gone to trial). Nevertheless, after interviewing me, Michelle took a chance on my case (midway) and represented me for the divorce. She was very professional, logical with her legal guidance, and quickly maneuvered to harden my case. She not only understood my requirements but she was forward thinking about additional requirements that I may need. Her understanding of the legal nuances and undertones of my case was impeccable. She stood toe to toe with the opposition, the judge, and even completed more work (than my previous attorney’s work) in a shorter amount of time towards my defense to get me a favorable settlement and to the finished line. It was a very long and contentious divorce, but I am fortunate to have found Michelle at the right time. She has a great team and I would highly recommended her for any unfortunate situation such as divorce.

During such a sensitive time in my life, she was the exact kind of lawyer I feared I would experience. I scheduled a telephone consult with her and, although she was prompt, she didn’t make a single attempt to make me feel welcomed or cared for. She started the call by firing questions at me almost like an interrogation session and was quick to dismiss me due to a hypothetical situation that COULD arise. I was thoroughly appalled and am honestly thankful that this ended now. I couldn’t imagine someone so cold and unwelcoming representing me in court.

Upon meeting Cara she assured me she was going to fight for me and that she was tough. I was glad because I knew my divorce wasn’t going to be easy and there was a custody fight. However, our first time in court she just sat there! I tried to speak and she shushed me and told me to wait. She never stood up for me or said anything to defend the accusations the other lawyer made. It was like that every time. I felt like she was afraid to talk or just didn’t care. She also seemed unprepared. If I had the money to get another lawyer, I would have, but I spent all my money on her. I also had issues trying to get answers from her - she didn’t respond to my emails for months and I talked to her secretary more than her, yet I still got charged for every email and phone call. My ex heard from his lawyer as soon as something happened but I had to find out from him. I will be seeking my next counsel elsewhere and I suggest you do too.

Brodie Law Group is the ONLY Law Group you should ever be calling. The first day I entered the Macon office I was hopeless , lost , worried and just plain tired. Steph McCollum in the front office Greeted me with the most welcoming and comforting smile I’ve ever seen. Ms Brodie followed behind her and invited me to sit down in her office to explain what she could help me with. Little did I know that day would be the start of this Law Group changing my life. My experience with this firm was exceptional! It was not just my experience alone. My seventy year old mother was unfortunately faced with a divorce at this late stage in her life. While going through this process she was also diagnosed with cancer. Ashley and her staff went above and beyond for my mother. They honestly became more like part of our family. So far we have paid him $4000 .. he has threatened to quit 3 times... He could not remember any details of my case. He constantly wants to talk about everything else except my case,and then charge me for speaking with him. I had to do all the leg work. When it cam e time for a hearing in my child custody case, Im pretty sure he was sleeping through the whole thing. I got beat up by a better lawyer, over things that were so inconsequential. When it was his turn to cross examine.. he had plenty of the things to question, but forgot about those... He asked two questions, and let it rest.. when I asked him him about it he said well I made objections... This is the worst representation from a lawyer that I have ever had... Don't waste your money!!!

The quality of service provided by this practice has far exceeded my expectations. Over the course of time, Tom and his staff have been very helpful to me. Tom’s advice and guidance has made the legal process manageable as well as understandable. His staff is knowledgeable, compassionate, and wonderful to work with. They have always been professional, and yet personable. The Judges appear to respect Tom’s straight forward and confident approach. I spoke with Mr. Cain on 8/3 regarding modifying an existing court order. I was in his office for approximately 1 hour, with at least 20 minutes of that time being spent with him telling me personal stories (his previous marriage counseling experiences, previous cases). During this time Mr. Cain made the comment, "you're not paying for this by the way". At the end of our meeting I decided to leave a check for $1800.00 which cleared my bank the same day. Mr. Cain explained that it would be over a week before anything would be done. Over the weekend I decided not to proceed with modifying the order. At 9AM the morning of 8/6 I called the office and spoke with Sabrina and explained that I no longer wanted to proceed. She told me she would speak to Mr. Cain and call me by the morning of 8/7. On 8/8 I sent an email since I had not heard back. I received a response apologizing and promising a follow up by the next day. On 8/10 I sent an additional email telling me I should hear back by 8/13. Well I just received a call from Ashley telling me that Mr. Cain is deducting $400 for a 2 hour consultation. Excuse me?! This is extremely unethical and highly unprofessional. I will definitely tell anyone I referred to him to seek counsel elsewhere and when I am ready to proceed I will not be returning to this office. How dare he take advantage of someone and bill for services he did not render!
