Sheryl Rae Ghezzi is the best around. When I was looking for a lawyer to represent me in my divorce, many lawyers that I contacted immediately began to discuss money. None gave me any advice, nor did any respond when I emailed or called them for help in this matter. Ms. Ghezzi contacted me without hesitation. She was very professional and made time to meet. She explained what my options were even if I didn't hire her. For those of us that are divorced or currently are going through one, we can all agree divorces can be a very hard and daunting life decision, but with the help of Ms. Ghezzi this action didn't feel hopeless. The quality services that I received weren't lackluster. I found out why she is a super lawyer. The way she kept me well informed and fought on my behalf was extraordinary. The level of services rendered felt like my case was the only case that was given her full attention. While I do know that she was working on other cases, her energy and diligence seemed effortless. I can't say enough about how she helped me get a fresh started on life. I recommend her %100 to anyone that needs not just a lawyer, but a top tier lawyer. Beware of this so called attorney at law Sheryl Rae Ghezzi!!! In the beginning she will talk big and you will believe that is no doubt she will win your divorce case. The reality is that Sheryl Ghezzi has plenty of knowledge about family law but she will not use it because she is too busy concentrating on your wallet. She will even pay you a visit at your house to get to "know you better", but in fact her true reason is to see with her own eyes how much money she can take from you. Sheryl Rae Ghezzi cares ONLY about your money not your divorce or child custody problems. I regret the fact that I have not paid close attention to the reviews I have read about Sheryl Rae Ghezzi or at least rely on my gut feeling when I hired this attorney to represent me and my child. Don't pay this attorney a penny until you start seeing results, the retainer she will ask you for in the beginning are going to be gone after your second court day. She will play nice and affectionate but the moment you are out of money she will drop you like a hot potato. Don't retain this attorney look somewhere else. The money she took from me and my family I could have hired any other decent lawyer to take my case from the beginning to the end of my divorce. If you are looking for a divorce lawyer you probably have enough problems already on different levels of your life don't add more frustration by hiring Sheryl Rae Ghezzi.

When asking about a serious topic like child support I was asked if I even knew what that was. Then when I answered, I was told that wasn’t the true definition. So I asked what is it then? And was told that it doesn’t matter anymore for whatever reason. I thought I could simply be treated with respect being that I was looking to them for advice due to my lack of knowledge. Instead I got a taste of arrogance and a poor level of attitude that was anything but professional. I HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND

Scott Gordon was a great choice. After meeting with several attorneys I meet with Scott and one of his associates. I was going through a divorce and needed help with the legal process and custody of my daughter. He was incredibly knowledgeable, and was very responsive. My case was handled with care and I was very happy with the end result. Brad & Maxine were very professional and extremely responsive. I never had to follow up because they were always one step ahead. While I had hoped my case would’ve been shorter, I feel like their approach caused me less financial burden in the long run. I have had 3 previous attorneys who fell short and this firm was by FAR the best I have ever dealt with. They explained everything in layman’s terms and were sensitive to not incur additional legal fees. I highly recommend them. I have been in business for almost 40 years and have used many lawyers over those years. Mr. Daudell is a real "pit-bull." I have seen him argue against 3 lawyers vs. him and he did GREAT! Even the judge commended him on his knowledge of the law. He is a FIGHTER and very fair on his fees. I highly recommend him for all legal issues. Excellent professional service. Matt Linstroth ably served as my advocate, while always keeping watch of the goal; a peaceful just settlement. He maintained a positive attitude and gave good sound advice. Had we known that the opposing side had been secretly reading our confidential emails, we may have obtained the normal 50/50 split rather than the resulting 47/53 split. The opposing side made good use of inside information to repeatedly negotiate an agreement and then retract and demand more. Matt characterized their actions as frustrating and less than principled. It was only after sending Matt an email stating that I had enough of this behavior and was ready to wait for our court date that the agreement was reached and honored. Had Matt dealt with an opposing side that played by the rules, I certainly could have had a better outcome. Knowing now what we were dealing with, I am all the more grateful to have had him as my advocate.

I engaged this attorney to represent me in a post-divorce case. I found this attorney to be less than professional when it came to billing matters. I will give few examples here He has another attorney - John who helps in drafting petitions. My petition moved around between these attorneys and each time I was billed twice given the agreement that I would be billed based on the “time spent”. As a result, for a simple initial petition, I ended up paying twice as much and the initial costs to file petition itself ran in to thousands. He has an assistant who prepares files for court appearances and submits petitions. She billed me for the time spent on “file preparation for the court date”. When William would write me a letter regarding the updates after court appearances, instead of emailing me, he would use his stationary - letter head. His assistant would then write her own elaborate email and forward me William's letter as a pdf attachment. For these simple administrative tasks (submitting petitions/memorandum to the court, forwarding William’s updates), she billed me at $250/Hr which is just as much as regular attorney rates in Chicago. He also drafted needless petitions without consulting me and billed me for the same. They were never used in the litigation. For the pretrial, his co-attorney wrote the memorandum and then he reviewed it, again did final review and then again spent time on it in preparation for pre-trial. The only point I am able to provide to his credit is that he filed petitions timely and was present on court dates. But I would have expected this from any professional lawyer. There are some reputable lawyers on the Clark street and in my opinion, this particular firm is not among them.

Candace, was a dream come true as an attorney. She was sympathetic, and knowledgeable. She was extremely professional dealing with an emotionally abusive ex husband, who tried to control and take over the divorce proceedings. She constantly checked in with me, made me feels supported listened to me about what my goals and concerns were during the divorce, and responded quickly, regarding any issue.
