If I could give a zero star- I would. My husband and I hired Mrs. Kamman one year ago. Due to Covid- our court dates kept getting pushed out. After a YEAR- we finally were set to go to trial. This was a straight forward case- ONLY to modify my husbands child support order that was 5 years old. We provided her with everything she requested prior to court and were told she would “file” the necessary motions for us. Leading up to our court date- we could not reach her for status. No returned phone calls or emails. February 2021 we finally have trial. Judge calls our case- and she isn’t on the call. Judge says he will give an hour for her to get on, and join. We frantically start to call and email her- unsure of what is happening! After one hour- she is a no call no show. Judge ruled against us. We ask for a continuance and judge says “FOR WHAT- NOTHING HAS BEEN FILED ON YOUR BEHALF FOR THIS CASE”. Total jaw drop. A year of continued court cases and a stiff $3500 retainer with NOTHING to show for it. Almost three weeks later, here we are... and still NO common courtesy call or returned email. I’d advise against hiring this crook of an attorney. Contact ARDC and complain ASAP! This kind of practice is unethical.

I had a very positive experience with Mrs. Kamman as my divorce attorney. My case involved custody, a shared underwater home that was complex to get my name removed from (due to the mortgage company), and my wanting to maintain a positive relationship with my Ex. In other words, while it was a friendly divorce; it did involve several issues that needed legal expertise. Sue was able to provide that for me. Also Sue did an outstanding job presenting me in court. The McHenry county judges respect her and she has an excellent working relationship with them. She has the divorced court system memorized down to every detail and form. Recently my Ex passed away, and our child is still a teen. Sue was able to help and guide me on who to contact to take on this next complicated journey. She also was able to provide the estate attorney with the divorce documentation needed. It was very helpful to have her help during a very sad and stressful time.

Has taken my money but has refused to call me or respond to my emails for 2 weeks. You need to answer me you took my money. Edit only called me after this review and yelled at me that her email server went down. When I asked why she didn’t call she became irate. Very unprofessional. Note the unprofessional response as well. I only spoke with you, you never responded. Nor did I scream at anyone. Also why are you responding 6 months later at 1am?

I have been desperately trying to get in touch with my hired attorney, Sue Kamman, for over a month. Our last conversation she told me she was going to respond to my ex’s attorney the moment she hung up the phone, and she never did. Since then, she has not returned a single call, or email, no matter how much I try. This is an extremely difficult time in my (or anyone’s) life and by abandoning me after she got her retainer, she’s made it exponentially harder. Do your research, and understand that lawyers are exactly who you think they are. Especially this one. EDIT: After nearly 2 months since I’d posted the above review, I was able to finish out my divorce without the help of Sue Kamman. I had to go around her back in order to get things done because she would not act. She blamed server/email issues for her reason not for contacting me, for over 4 months. Not once did she return one of my many phone calls. Having given up on any help from Sue, I requested she withdraw from my case, so that I could represent myself and finish my divorce. She made zero efforts to do this, and when the court date came, the judge was waiting for her to show up to the zoom call for over a half hour. After my ex’s attorney pressured her, Sue joined the call, just to withdraw as my attorney. She still has over half of my retainer, and has done the bare minimum of work, and effort. If you ask me my opinion, Sue Kamman is a criminal, and a fraud. I’ve requested my retainer back from her multiple times, and I’ve again received no response. This practice shows absolutely no professionalism, or human decency. I am disgusted by her behavior and I hope that the ARDC investigates these claims, as no lawyer should be allowed to do this to anyone. Sue Kamman should be disbarred.

It’s hard to know where to start but here goes. This past year was an uphill battle for myself to try to get 50 percent custody of my two little ones due to an ugly divorce. In the beginning I googled the top lawyers around my area and thankfully I was able to find Ronald L. Bell & Associates P.C.. From the moment I walked in I knew I made the right choice. Lisa and Amy were there to not only listen to me but reassured me I had made the right choice to come and see Ron. Ron has been there for me through it all. He will tell you exactly what you need to do in order for you to get the results you want. I followed his instructions to a T. I did not sway at all even though sometimes I was frustrated with what was asked of me in court. He can be very stern and sometimes it comes off in a bad way but it comes from a place of experience. Mr. Bell is an extremely smart and wise attorney. If you need legal representation, and you have the intelligence to quickly begin your legal process to expedite the situation, then Mr. Bell and his associates are, hands-down, the best legal team and/or representation you can attain. Listen to him and take the time to understand his instructions. He knows the system above a lot of other lawyers, because he has taken part in placing forth most of the laws to which we must abide. He knows the entire legal process and is extremely praised by his peers and judges in this area. To briefly explain, Mr. Bell has represented me in two separate cases. Both of the cases were led to desirable outcomes. This lawyer can and will help you. You just need to understand that with any lawyer or legal process, you must participate actively in your case to make any progression. Hiring a lawyer doesn’t mean he will read your mind and solve all your problems. Hiring a lawyer and his team just allows you to decrease the likelihood of your legal and financial deficit as a a result of your legal situation. I am not an English native speaker, I come from China. My case was very complicated and difficult case. I interviewed so many attorneys, some of them have decent titles. But after a brief conversation with David Kerpel, I decided to hire him without any hesitation. He is very knowledgeable, thoughtful, strong sympathy, think quickly. Attorney of ex-husband was very tough and also very experienced, but no matter opposing counsel how tough she was, David always very calm, respectful and control the situation quickly even though my situation was extremely passive. I am come from another country and don’t know anything about the law here, ex-husband was divorcing me by email when I was out of United States. He relocated to another state to open his own company. I did’t know how much marital property we had and how much he earned after he filed the divorce. I speak and wrote the broken English. You could imagine how difficult and passive my situation was. I first would like to say this law firm started at a disadvantage. They were battling a slew of inconsistencies at the very beginning of my divorce an order of protection that was untrue and I had no parenting time once so ever and then enter stage left Jason Montemayor and Denis Gravel. These two men successfully showed me the steps and path I needed to take to overcome all of the tales told against me. Denis from the very beginning told me this is an uphill battle and that it will be hard and frustrating but we are on your side to help and didn’t not lie to me about what they could do to help me. Jason from the moment he stepped on the case and sat as my legal counsel became my lawyer and conscience he has never lied to me and even let me vent a few time when needed to get out my thought by far the most professional and caring team I have ever had through one of the most difficult moments in my life and I would recommend them to all who are having a problem in divorce from the start Jason and Denis to both of you thank you and to Christine the thankless nights of preparing paperwork and sending invoices I thank you as well as. I am ending this nightmare with 50/50 custody of my daughter and get to live a happy life.

You are supposed to be neutral when you’re a GAL, but he would rather side with the parent that has retained a lawyer and has more money. He never considered my children’s points of view but rather stated “the inmates don’t run the prison”. I’m sorry Denis, but my children are not inmates. Let’s not forget to mention Denis’s ego…perhaps it’s little man syndrome. If you want someone who is fair Denis is NOT your guy.

This should allow 0 stars! Kelly Wieczorek at this firm is very inexperienced and has no clue what she is doing. Also they are very intimidated by lies by the opposing party. They are not willing to represent a client in their best interest on a case! They will then withdraw on the case after one week! She also appears late to your important court hearing and is the one that caused harm to the case. It seems they will give anyone a law degree these days. All they care about is the financial benefit! Their response is all lies to protect a firm that will do Nothing in your best interest on a case. I highly recommend to find a better firm, there are many out there!

I've heard many times to never trust a lawyer. However, that isn't the case with Matt. He is a very understanding, compassionate, and caring man. He knows what he is doing, and he gets it done. I would recommend Matt to everyone I know! Showing up to court wasn't something I looked forward to but Matt was always a ray of sunshine on my rainy days. Mr. Kaplan is a wonderful attorney. He fought hard for what was best for our 7 yrs old daughter. He is honest, upfront and cares for his clients. He and his office staff, Mrs. Susan are the sweetest people. My particular case was a military family that no longer lives in IL. Ex-husband active duty navy and I work as a civil service employee for the Dept of Army. We divorce in 2013 in IL and our child nor neither of us have resided in IL since. Though we didnt win the ability to move jurisdiction to the state our child and I now live, Mr. Kaplan fought extremely hard and I feel expressed to the judge my concerns with jurisdiction remaining in IL. We were able to get a modification of custody done during our court visit so that will be beneficial. I strongly recommend him and will be seeking his services for future needs as our daughter grows.

Divorce is never easy, no matter how cooperative you and your spouse think you are. It is complicated and emotional, so I was incredibly fortunate to have Cynthia on my side. Cynthia is, of course, very knowledgeable about the law, but she does an excellent job of making sure YOU understand the law. She walked me through all of the implications of the decisions I had to make so I could make informed choices. I had many questions throughout and Cynthia acted with a sense of urgency when responding to me. Whether it was replying to an email over the weekend or returning a call after hours, I always felt that I was important to her and she was looking out for my best interests. Most importantly, Cynthia is a very calm and compassionate person, which was exactly what I needed during this emotional time. I hope to never need her representation again, but she is my first recommendation to anyone who does.
