I hired Lisa Stern for a child support / visitation case and it was a complete disaster. I would not recommend her services to anyone. Upon meeting Lisa in our initial consultation, I was very impressed. She was friendly, competent, and put my mind at ease. She told me she "guaranteed" that the opposing party would not get what they were asking for. She told me she would be there with me at the trial. The day before my hearing Lisa phoned and told me she could not be at my hearing and was sending her associate, Laura, who had been briefed on the case. Laura could not have been less prepared. After sitting in the court room for several hours, my case was called and Laura was nowhere to be found. After another hour I had to physically go to another courtroom where she was sitting (without a client) and pull her out. By the time my case was called again, it was the judges very last case at the end of a very long day. To make matters worse, Laura looked like a deer in the headlights during the entire hearing. She barely said anything at all on my behalf and did not bring up any of the points or arguments Lisa and I had discussed. She may as well have not been there at all. When I told Lisa what had happened, she told me she trusted Laura to represent me as well as she would. She then charged me another 2+ K to do a motion for reconsideration to correct the fact she'd sent someone incompetent to represent me. The motion for reconsideration was denied. At this point I had paid Lisa over 4K...for literally nothing. At this point I promptly let Lisa go. Several months later it came to my attention that Lisa had never removed herself as my attorney of record. When I reached out and asked her to do so, she told me she would not remove herself unless I paid her an additional amount to do so. My new attorney informed me that this is absolutely unacceptable and it is the attorney's responsibility to remove themselves as attorney of record if they are let go - at NO additional cost. The entire experience with this firm was terrible and negligent. I paid a lot of money and received the most pathetic representation imaginable. Lisa Stern cares more about running up her bills than actually representing her clients. STAY AWAY. STAY FAR AWAY.

Oh Lisa! My angel and warrior. After dealing with a horrible Domestic Violence situation, Lisa steppes in and removes any worry or doubt in my mind. She gave me peace of mind that allowed me to heal and recover from an abusive relationship and focus on raising my son. She is honest, up front and a fighter. 5 stars is not enough for her! I highly recommend this office and Patricia Kasody for divorce proceedings. She is able to see through all the smoke and mirrors certain personalities will throw out there, and focus in on the heart of the matter and the facts. She is tough when needed and efficient. If you are dealing with an aggressive personality in your ex, she can be a great help with a show of strength.

The attorney's at Kizy Law are some of the most compassionate lawyers you can have represent you. I contacted Channelle late in October when I was surprised by my wife's infidelity. I was referred to her by another attorney who indicated she was the areas best family lawyer. From my first conversation with her, I could tell this to be true. Throughout the process, her law office was in constant communication with not only me, but also my ex. She graciously assisted her and answered both our questions, when she didn't have to. We did things amicable and Chanelle was in support with this, throughout the entire process. All emails were answered promptly and the lines of communication were always open. I never felt as though I was just another client, but that she genuinely was interested in seeing my well being protected throughout the divorce. I don't wish anyone to have to go through a divorce. And I know my circumstances are unique and incredibly rare. But I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her services for any of my friends or family's needs, should they also need a family lawyer who is compassionate, while looking out for your interests. I contacted Channelle last minute with only a few days to prepare. Regarding a personal case minor misdemeanor charge. She was extremely helpful and explained to me exactly what I needed to do. I was a bit nervous but she is a professional and I immediately felt at ease and knew I was in excellent hands. She will fight for you and do the very best no matter what. I can't say enough of the job these folks did for me, I had a high conflict custody case where the only thing was parenting time. I went nearly three months without seeing my daughter they contacted me almost daily to keep me calm and tell me it would work out once we got in front of the Judge or mediator(although it looked like mediation wasn't going to be an option and it would head to trial)it's just covid was slowing stuff down. This was the 3rd time me and my ex have been thru a divorce and the first two times my attorneys didn't know how to stand up against her attorney who would just make false accusation after false accusation with no evidence and bully my other attorneys. Kristina and Chanelle told me remain calm it will work out. I ended up with joint custody and pretty close to equal nights and for a male in Wayne county you can't ask for much more. They came highly recommenced from my boss (Mark Z) wife and she referred me to the best person possible and I don't think I could of got a better outcome anywhere else. Thanks for all the hard work I know it was hard and stressful but we did it!

Michael Thomas is the quintessential divorce and family law attorney. Not only is he extremely determined, smart, and responsive - he is extremely effective in obtaining outcomes that are best for his clients. He handled my complicated divorce case with ease and confidence. His experience alone is priceless - - he knows the system and understand the nuances of family court (and the family court judges, referees, and opposing counsel). I have had reason to retain Michael on 2 occasions. Michael is extremely responsive, listens and understands to the whole picture, and makes himself available throughout the process to allay any concerns with honest feedback, and a realistic idea of what to expect. While no one WANTS to be in a situation to need the services of an attorney, I would not seek counsel from anyone else.

I can not say enough for the great legal service given to us by M. Catchick. We had a situation for my daughter that seemed hopeless that would have resulted in a misdemeanor for my daughter. The worst part about this ticket was it was my fault, her father. Matt explained things to us in a calm but realistic fashion. He gave us hope and always comes across like an old family friend. This is not acting, this is how he always treats his clients. He made sense of a very complicated situation and would not just take our money without a good fight. This amazing lawyer walked us through it and explained every option. In the end, we got better than he told us. The misdemeanor was gone and reduced to almost nothing. This is our third time working with him and it’s always been a very positive experience. I could not recommend this extraordinary professional enough to anybody in need.

I made a list of attorneys to get divorce consultation with but after talking to Madana, I knew there is no need to interview anyone else. She came of as smart, tough, intuitive, intelligent and very capable. You can feel her integrity and honesty. I was right. I felt she always had my best interest, was very responsive and I always knew what was going on. She is very knowledgeable. I also appreciated her no nonsense approach. She always delivered information in a very rational matter, with no sugar coating. I highly recommend Madana.

If there was an option to put less than 1 star I would. The office is completely unprofessional and extremely incompetent. I would not trust Madana Hurmoz with something as important as handling my divorce. She is just as incompetent as the staff she keeps. She has a very cocky attitude and does not seem to have good customer service skills. Madana Hurmoz cares more about her business name than caring about her clientele. This company is more focused on money than actually helping anyone.

I was very disappointed in Kristen Robinson. She ignored signed notarized documents and proof of ownership of property. She wasted time giving rights of ownership to a man with no documents of proof. After receiving her final arbitration award and a 3000 bill, her decision was overturned in appeal by the judge who claimed it was illegal for her to arbitrate property not owned by us. My additional attorney costs were 5k . An expensive arbitration that should have never happened.

Irika Mellin is AMAZING. She is thorough, diligent, & knowledgeable. I can't say enough positive things about her. She does not do anything that is not necessary (i.e. she will not over charge you like so many other lawyers out there), and she earned every single penny. I credit her with the best possible outcome (in my case) and if you are afraid and not sure if you need to book an attorney to represent you, or if you just aren't sure who, please let me enthusiastically recommend Ms. Mellin!!!!!
