In the 3 years I have worked with Dave I have found his diligence, professionalism and honesty to be completely unmatchable. He's easy to get in touch with and always has an open line of communication. He has even followed up on days he was off to help us out. He put his heart into his career, it goes without saying he is in this for his client best interest and in the legal system that is an attribute that is hard to find. I had the unfortunate experience of being involved in a high conflict divorce. My initial attorney was not particularly responsive and she seemed more interested in making sure that my ex's lifestyle was maintained post-divorce than discussing/protecting my lifestyle post-divorce. My initial attorney was also not particularly responsive, as several very important questions that I had emailed to her went unanswered. When I decided to retain a new attorney, a friend strongly recommended Jody Terzich based on his very positive experience with his high conflict divorce. I called Jody, but she was on vacation and she did not return my call for 10 days. Because I was impatient, I retained a different attorney who claimed to specialize in high conflict divorces before Jody called me back (she did and she was very polite/professional). Although I have not ever worked with Jody, I will believe that my decision to not wait for Jody to return my phone call was probably the worst decision that I made during my divorce. Unfortunately, attorney#2 was even worse than attorney#1 and six months later I was even more desperate for competent legal counsel. I again called Terzich and Ort; this time, Shannon was available for an initial consult/discussion, so I met with her. I cannot recommend Shannon Ort strongly enough as a family lawyer. She was polite, responsive, smart, and professional at all times. I am guessing that my case was more difficult than most because my first two attorneys made numerous mistakes and opposing counsel was high combative and very difficult (I'd describe opposing counsel as the dirty, slimy people that are the butt of every "lawyer joke"). Shannon advised me through all aspects of my very difficult divorce. Her services were worth every penny as she calmed all of my fears and concerns, most of which were rooted in my poor, prior legal counsel. She politely rebuked me when I had some hair-brained legal idea when she needed to do so (she is not a "yes lawyer") but she also accepted my input when I had a good legal idea. During trial, she was similarly fantastic. She is smart on her feet and she was able to get an immediate resolution on one of the four issues before the judge when my ex misspoke during trial. She also "refused to take the bait" when opposing counsel repeatedly slung mud at me during trial; instead, Shannon remained calm, polite, and professional. You might find it somewhat weird that I am emphasizing Shannon's professionalism, but it was a striking contrast to opposing counsel who was abrasive, obnoxious, and combative. I still have not yet received the judge's ruling on my divorce, but I am certain that Shannon provided the absolute best legal counsel possible during what was a very difficult divorce. Shannon's post-trial submission to court is, in my non-legal opinion, a very strong and convincing document, particularly compared to opposing counsel's document.

We already had went through a couple attorneys on our case and we actually had 2 other attorneys representing us giving horrible advice and making our case worse by letting the county and social services run rough shod over us. Then we were able to get into contact with Rhia. From day 1 the tone changed. She was always easy to get ahold of and she very easily grasped the ins and outs of a confusing case. She was able to do in a couple months on her own, what all the others could not do in 8 months. She got our son out of foster care, back to us, and got social services out of our lives completely. When I started with the company I was happy with the details in which I was receiving. I felt things where happening in a timely manner. About 6 mo into the case I felt I was not getting the information that was needed. I stayed with the company because I felt this is what was needed and everyone hits a standstill. It wasn’t till I began thinking. Why am I paying all this money for no return calls or emails. No invoices. I had meeting set up but the lawyer wouldn’t show. It wasn’t till I changed lawyers that I began to see what timely results were. I still waiting for an refund/invoice of my funds. When this company is on top of its games, I was very happen in the beginning. I hope they are able to get the personal issues taken care of and go back to the lawyer firm I was told was so great..

Consumer beware.This law firm is under investigation for embezzling and ponzi schemes. They did not represent my case in anyway. I paid them $1,000 of dollars and never seen an invoice. Never got a call back for weeks. When everything was over I asked for an invoice and return of unused money. Still no call back and no invoice. Family law has been done for months now.
