Sylvia and all the girls were so great! My divorce was such a disaster on my husbands part, and Sylvia stayed on top of all the craziness he threw my way, in the end I am so happy with the final divorce settlement and I could not have done it without Sylvia and the girls.

Approximately two years ago, I began attorney shopping after I was told by my now ex-wife, that she wanted a divorce. I was betrayed, and trying to navigate through something that I have never experienced before. I did not want an attorney who would “throw wood into the fire,” heighten my emotions, make me overthink things, or entice me to take unnecessary actions out of anger or emotion. I had two meetings lined up, one being with Steve. I felt that Steve fit my personality very well, and we have since developed a solid relationship and understanding that goes beyond business. Steve was a calming presence, completely fair, honest, and accountable throughout the duration of the divorce process. Also, Steve has a sense of humor that I greatly appreciate. On top of that, Steve is a great writer, very thorough with his work, and a very clear communicator. Last but not least, Karen and Val are extremely pleasant to work with; always there to help and assist. Hands down, the best divorce attorney in New Jersey. Steve was always there when I needed something. He made sure that I didn’t get taken for a ride from the opposing attorney. He’s a lawyer you can count on and if you are in the unfortunate situation of getting divorced, he’s the man for the job. His staff is top notch. They are so fast in responding and getting paperwork done. I have ZERO complaints about Steve and his staff. Steve is a tough attorney, which is what you want and he will fight for you from day one. I was referred to Mr. Kaplan by another "super attorney" who was retiring. I am so glad he did. Mr. Kaplan is a very talented, hard working, professional, personal, and attentive attorney. Who also has a conscience. He always kept me informed of all changes and updated me on my matter in a very timely manner. He even worked an entire weekend once on a pressing issue. He is a very honest man and I believe his honesty is known throughout the Monmouth/Ocean county court system which gives him credibility with both judges and his peers. Steven Kaplan is an outstanding divorce lawyer! He's focused, efficient and highly professional, with an expert knowledge of NJ matrimonial law. You will find lawyers who are cheaper no doubt, but you won't find any better than Steve. And as the old saying goes, you get what you pay for. My only regret is that I didn't use him as my first divorce lawyer, instead of my second. And divorce is definitely one of those things that you want to get right the first time. I’d like to thank Goldstein law group for their highly professional service. My special Thanks to Francine. She was an amazing attorney. I was in deep grief after unsuccessful consent conference and then retained her as my attorney. She did the best. She is fantastic in drafting legal documents. She drafted exactly what I wanted and good negotiator too. My husband’s attorney was very tricky and try to corner me and doing things against me. The Defendant attorney wanted complicate matters. Francine guided me well. She helped and advised me with all pros and cons of the situation and assisted me even with any decision that I made and it’s consequences. She is very good at communicating with us. She forwards all correspondence and not hide anything. Another Thanks to Patti legal assistant, she was prompt. I retained Lisa from the Goldstein Law Group for a divorce matter. Having a very simple divorce case, with little to no assets Lisa played "dumb", knowing I was not aware of the process and stressed. Lisa suggesting only suggested actions that she knew would only prolong my divorce case to bill hours and not to the best of my interest. Process' were not clearly explained to me and firm was more interested in depleting my retainer, than my needs. The last $1,000 of my retainer seemed to "Vanish" with nothing to show for, and when asking for the documents she prepared with this I was ignored. Please save your money and hire an experienced attorney.

For my divorce, I worked specifically with Francine and she is extremely responsive, knowledgeable, very thorough and detail oriented and has a tremendous amount experience in matrimonial dissolution cases. I am writing this because I was once in your shoes. Researching a lawyer that made me feel like I could breathe again. Reading reviews and thinking “okay is this individual the right one.” Mr. Sico who I now call Steve was referred to me by another attorney who advised me “your case is above my head.” I called Steve and immediately felt relief. I remember saying this is the one. Steve picked up on things that no other attorney found, he asked questions and provided paths that no one else recommended. I was in a dark place, my world was completely upside down. Unbeknownst to me, I was involved in a “flip home” with con-artists who purposely left me holding the bag. When Steve found out how low I was in my life, he immediately protected me. I cried in his office the first time I met him in person, I was completely broken. He told to “enjoy the weekend and don’t even think about this situation.” I was in shock because for months this was all I thought about. Let me tell you, I enjoyed my weekend for the first time in a long time. Steve and Connie both checked in on me regularly, not as client, as a friend. He truly cares about his clients and he fights for them. He would contact me with information and I would listen to him, trusting his guidance. I remember one proposed deal and I wasn’t completely happy but I said to myself “okay, we have to do this.” Steve knew I wasn’t completely happy. And I now know Steve wasn’t happy with it either. Steve never expressed this to me, he just fought. A few weeks later he called me and told me the new deal, the one we originally wanted. I wanted to hug him through the phone (even in a covid pandemic). All he said to me was “Valerie, enjoy your weekend.” Heck my weekend, MY LIFE. I was originally going to wait to write this review until the case was done. Although I know I don’t need to because he will fight for the outcome I deserve. I trust him that much. In closing I want to express if you are reading this and you are also in that dark place, CALL STEVE. I’ve been there, scared and innocent, with no direction because nothing prepped me for this type of evil. I hope this review reaches you because this truly is the review I needed to see a year ago. I can’t thank Steve enough, he saved my life. I also can’t leave out Connie, because that sweet soul still checks on me.
