Been in and out of domestic relations court for 13 years. Kristen will give you hope that not everyone is the same. She was very concerned about my case, always was well prepared and ready to fight. She is professional in the court room. First lawyer I have seen in the court room that could plead the clients case without trying courtroom tricks to try to get the other party to show emotions. She learned everything about my case well before we entered the courtroom and always asked the right questions so there was no need for antics. Kristen was on my team, not just my lawyer. I am thinking that is probably hard to find.

Several years ago Courtney and Brad stepped into one of the most egregious cases when they didn't have too and I didn't have much money at all - but they did it to help protect my little girl when the system had failed to protect her. Their law firm went far beyond what they had to do and they weren't even making a profit off of me at the time. Over the past few years they have given me professional and solid advice - most recently Brad gave me advice that helped me handle situation with a speeding ticket for the best possible outcome. They have shown compassion and integrity throughout the years and are professional and skilled attorneys. I would recommend them to anyone who ends up in a situation needing an attorney - big or small. I could never voice my gratitude enough for how they went above and beyond for my little girl.

I am not sure I will ever be able to fully thank Courtney and her team for what she did during my divorce case. While I was dealing with the emotional aspect of losing my marriage, she was looking out for me and watching every detail - and because of her I ended up with a negotiated agreement which had me retain full custody of my kids, plenty of financial support and I retained my residence. Courtney was able to accomplish what every attorney's office that I consulted with before her and what the attorney on my case prior to her could not. She saved my little girl. I have hired Jeff three times, once for my divorce and twice to make modifications to my visitation schedule and child support. I’ve been very pleased with the results and the attention to my case. He has a common sense approach to family law and billing is accurate and fair. If you need a therapist or a shoulder to cry on Jeff is not your lawyer but if you want to have an accurate legal opinion on what is achievable in Butler county domestic relations court Jeff Holcomb is who you should hire.

John Heilbrun worked tirelessly for me on my complicated and atypical divorce case for one long year. He paid no attention to the clock when it came to responding to my concerns, and he addressed all issues with detailed attention. I retained Mr. Russell to handle my dissolution with children and we discussed all options and he helped establish a fair and reasonable shared parenting time schedule with my ex-husband. He excels at negotiations and unlike many people, I understand that there is no winner in divorce/dissolutions/custody matters. It is imperative to reach a reasonable resolution rather than "beating your former spouse in court". I agreed with Mr. Russel that it is far better to try and resolve issues between the parties rather than leaving it up to a Judge. Simply put, there are things that you have to give up in return to acquire the things that matter most to you. Our dissolution was fairly easy and was completed in under 3 months which required both parties to be amenable (not always the case which can drag things out). Mr. Russell also proved to also be an excellent reference when I moved out of state in search of a new job. He is a class act and don't be fooled by his easy going demeanor to mean that he is passive or easily manipulated by opposing counsel. His ability to keep a cool head and calm demeanor allows for a more positive outcome for his clients. He cares about his clients and he will give you straight answers rather than making promises which is often times misconstrued by the lay person who may not understand the processes of litigation. I will continue to recommend Mr. Russell to my family and friends for their legal needs. - Natalie Travis

Hired Craig Sams to represent me during post degree filings. Mr. Sams talked a great game during the hiring process until it came time to actually accomplish anything. He was arrogant, dismissive and rude on more than one occasion. To say it is all about the money is an understatement when dealing with this firm ($55 to forward an email with no explanation or thoughts, just hit send). Kirkland & Sommers needs to realize that they are not doing a customer a favor by representing them, it is actually the other way around. I have been taken for $2800 and I am no closer to having my issue resolved.

Mr. Kirkland was recommended to us and he did an excellent job! He understand our case when no other attorney did. He put in a lot of work doing research in our case and he did an excellent job in the court room. The communication was also great although we are a military family and we live out of state. Cathy Cook’s office provides efficient and excellent service. Her associate attonrey, Ethan Arenstein, is very direct, knowledgeable, and does a great job of setting expectations. Ethan does a great job of remembering the details of your case and uses billed hours very effectively. The firm is very responsive to their clients. The retaining price is higher than other firms, however, the billing of hours is extremely fair which is what matters most. They will not nickel and dime you for questions that may arise and will charge you maybe for 10 minutes for several email exchanges. Tasks are delegated to their paralegal, Scott, when possible to save their clients money. I highly recommed using Cathy Cook and her staff on your family law case. Her staff is very friendly and courteous.

I contacted this office in seek of counsel to represent myself in a multi state child support case. I am not from Ohio and after searching and reading reviews I decided to reach out to Cathy's office. The legal assistant was extremely friendly and very helpful. She scheduled a consultation for 1pm today. Cathy whom I'd read such glowing reviews about was rude, abrasive and just overall unprofessional. She repeatedly cut me off and had the audacity to tell me that I was "unprepared." I am consulting you in order to decide whether or not to pay you to complete a service, I am not asking for a favor. Your job is to be prepared and advise me what I need to provide you with in order to do your job. If I'd taken the Ohio bar then her assertion that I was "unprepared" may hold credence. Cathy also made rude and inappropriate innuendos regarding my reasoning for pursuing the over 30k I am owed in child support. I am extremely taken aback by this interaction and considering today's climate and taking into consideration the experience from the other people that have reviewed this attorney there's only one line that can be drawn as to why I was treated in such a manner. I absolutely would not recommend.

I am an attorney and have known Blake for many years. My wife is from Canada and we had to deal with immigration. I initially looked into handling immigration on my own. I called Blake for advice and he gave me very accurate information as a friend. However, as I quickly found out, immigration issues should not be handled by anyone other than an immigration attorney. I retained Blake and have been happy with the decision ever since. He keeps us current and informed even years after initial hiring. Simply put: the guy is very good at his job.
