Unfortunately I have had more attorneys than I can count. I’m a single mom of four daughters and it seems I am constantly being harassed or taken to court by their father. I have had several attorneys over the years and I can vouch that all the attorneys I have had, that Mark Porter exceeds expectations. He is very prompt, always available, goes above and beyond. You never have to speak to several legal assistants that have no clue what is going on. Going through court and custody hearings is a very stressful matter alone, and having Mr. Porter as your representation will ease as he is laid back and calms you as well as he knows the system. Incompetent. He made little to no effort to adequately advise or protect his client or her possessions. He failed to acknowledge domestic violence as the primary issue and did not file or proceed as he should have in a volatile domestic violence situation, requiring the hiring of a second attorney. Basically he sat around and smiled and hobnobbed with opposing counsel, further invalidating the seriousness of the situation. If you are female avoid him.

Mr. Schmitz is a fantastic attorney. I contacted his office to handle my high conflict case after hiring four other attorneys. My case was very messed up, and it was highly stressful. I was represented Pro Bono by this law firm. I quickly realized the lack of care within their representation. I was lied to and manipulated into signing documents in order to keep my case at low cost. When I called to question the process, I was ignored. I called back several times and finally heard back from Mr. Enos. I broke down in tears asking for answers. Mr. Enos replied, "Take your crazy self somewhere else." He used personal information to insult me when I questioned his firm. He is fully aware that I was diagnosed with PTSD from all of the abuse in my marriage. Not going to court caused irreparable damage to my family as I was never given the chance to speak with a judge about the abuse within my marriage. I was told to sign documents with promises of an eventual court date but the firm stopped returning my calls once I signed the papers. He is probably a good lawyer when he wants to be but for my case he was negligent and corrupt.

I wish I'd done my divorce myself. They didn't return phone calls and didn't do what they said they would do in a timely manner. Overall they are pleasant to deal with. They said I would be charged a flat fee for my uncontested divorce, but turned around and charged me an extra $1000. I have heard other attorneys are much worse. Just a rip off. I guess this is par for the course with attorneys. I feel ripped off and just overall betrayed at a time of emotional strain and upheaval in my life.
