I cannot praise Livesay and Myers, P.C. enough. I engaged the firm to handle my separation and divorce. (This was after parting ways with another law firm because I did not feel satisfied with their service.) Jamel Rowe, Esq. and Brenda Moreno, Paralegel, both of whom I worked with for several months, are the consummate professionals. Drafts of documents and filings were flawless. Communication was always not only timely, but also very pleasant, even in tense situations with tight timeframes. I could tell that Ms. Rowe put a major effort into reviewing a mountain of case data because she had immediate recall of specific facts and their relevance. Most impressive was Ms. Rowe's handling of the case during the trial: she had command of the facts and used them effectively; she presented a clear case, emphasizing precisely what I had suggested; and the judge openly praised her "accurate and appropriate" use of the property distribution forms. We have a very positive and rewarding experience with Alicia Finley, one of the attorneys at Barnes & Diehl. Our case was very complex and complicated because as grandparents we were seeking visiting privileges and eventually custody of our granddaughter. We had moved here from Greensboro, NC because the father had retained custody of the child after being absent from the child's life almost from birth. We were underrepresented by our attorney in Greensboro. We met first with the owner of the firm and he recommended Ms. Finley. She stepped in and took the time to understand and appreciate our granddaughter's situation. She took the time to get to know us and the role we had played in her life. The legal process took from 2018 to 2021 when we secured full physical and legal custody of our granddaughter. Ms. Finley leveraged her expertise and supported our mission. Most importantly, she is skilled in the legal processes and her court presence and knowledge played a significant role in this positive outcome. Her help in navigating the legal situation proved to be a key factor in getting what was the best for our grandchild. We both highly recommend her for any family domestic and custody needs that require legal attention.

I am a young, IT professional, residing in the Northern Virginia area who has been familiar with divorce, separation and family law for about 4 years now. This is due to a really bad divorce and child custody battle between my ex wife and I. I had two attorneys that I retained the first time around and although i got what i feel was decent representation, it did not come close to what Lindsay has done for me. It was like she took this case personally. Unlike previous lawyers, Lindsay did not wait until last minute to prepare for this case. From day one she took the time ti not only get familiar with the case, but she took time to get to know me as an individual. This was especially important because i was the main witness in my defense. She took advantage of my strengths and took into consideration my weaknesses. This was critical in preparing me to take the stand. One thing that really stood out to me and comforted me in this matter was receiving emails from her late in the evening. This let me know that my case was of the upmost priority for her as that is usually time I personally reserve for personal matters and I would NEVER let work interrupt that, not Lindsay. I could really spend days going over why I am SO satisfied with her services, but I will save everyone the time. I got exactly what I had been asking for, from this case. Lindsay was very likable to the judge and had great confidence and delivery. Honestly, I would have written this review EVEN if things did NOT go my way in trial. She deserves it! I was stuck in a marriage that wasn't good for me or my son. I was referred to this firm by a friend, and I couldn't be happier with how my case has been handled. I met with one of the partners when I first came in, and my case was given to an attorney whose skills and style were perfectly suited for me, and for what I wanted out of the case. It's been almost four years since I first came in to the office, and my situation has improved dramatically. I am no longer in that marriage, but with the help of the firm and my attorney, I've managed to rebuild a life and to establish a working, fruitful co-parenting relationship with my ex-wife. Very disappointed with the service here. Specifically with Nupur Bal. I found her via Richmond time magazine as one of the best marital attorney so I thought she’ll be the best person to hired for my prenuptial with my fiancé. During our meeting, I specifically asked for her to note to have my dog in the contract. When the agreement is drafted, he was not mentioned on there, I feel like I got a run of the liter contract literally. Another negative experience was when I emailed her regarding some questions, waited 2 weeks no response from her, I also reach out to her assistant dotty at the time no response either. Turned out Dottie had retired - but this is no excuse for Nupur to not respond to my email. Of course this got resolved and I was told she got a new assistant now, once again I needed modification to my prenuptial and emailed her to do so, it’s been a month plus and I hadn’t gotten a respond. These experiences can’t help but to make me feel very unimportant after putting down $2500 as retainer and with already $1800 taken out of it for this contract. Mind you I get charged for any corespondent, which I don’t mind if she would do her job. Anyway, I received an email 2 days ago from Nupur to follow up on my prenuptial and was charged $41 yesterday for her email, I hadn’t responded yet but I will email and terminate my working relationship with her. But really like seriously? Your only job is to help me, while you can’t respond to my other email which I paid for is ridiculous, how she won any awards really is questionable to me on my experience of how she handle clients. We ended up using another attorney for the agreement. It said I only have $700 left from the account. I took my already $1800 paid as a lost cause and work with someone else and not have to baby sit her to follow up. I would not recommend Nupur Bal to anyone and highly recommend you to find someone else.

Sharon is an amazing attorney! She is very personable and fun to chat with, which makes the whole process much easier. She is also extremely knowledgeable and very experienced in estate planning, wills and trusts. Sharon has checklists for everything, making sure you have all of your bases covered for all circumstances. After your consultation, she puts together a comprehensive package, and on your next meeting, you leave with everything you need -- broken into labeled binders, separate folders, etc. You can then store your files or give them to the proper people in your life, getting all of your affairs in order. And, all of your documents are also on a thumb drive as well. I'll be honest -- I went into this whole situation dreading it (acknowledging your mortality, a mountain of paperwork). But Sharon made this, dare I say, fun? An incredible weight has been lifted off of our shoulders with this responsibility finally checked off the to-do list. Throughout the process, she made it as easy as possible, answered every question (and when we threw her a curve ball, she researched the answer), and was great to work with. And, we left her office knowing we were fully-prepared. We cannot recommend her highly enough. The day we left her office with our materials, I emailed friends and co-workers with her contact info. Those who have also used her services rave about her as well.

I was given a reckless ticket in October and due to my schedule and procrastination I forgot about it and didn't call/find them until a few days before my court date. They went to work immediately! “Recommendation”/tip (via family): If your case is being adjudicated in the County of Henrico, by all means, have Napier take it on, as she's very tight with members of this court system. I.e., When you’re dealing with a government institution like Henrico courts, network(ing) supersedes skill/expertise.
