This might seem long but based on my own experience, concise reviews are not so helpful when it comes to finding a CRIMINAL Defense attorney. In a recent experience I had in Los Angeles, I was accused of criminal conduct by law enforcement. While on bail waiting for my court arraignment date, I was extremely worried particularly because of my immigration status as I am an international student on a visa. I could not take any risks in dealing with this matter because any of the accusations I was facing could significantly jeopardize and harm my future in terms of education and career. Because of this, I decided to do extensive research and choose the BEST attorney out there to handle my case and fight the accusations ASAP. After a week, I short-listed a few law firms including the Eisner Gorin LLP based on a few criteria such as, online reviews, records and credentials, as well as the responses that attorneys have provided to the legal questions that were asked on the internet. Moreover, as I was educating myself about the judiciary system of the US, I realized that apparently it can make a huge difference if the defense attorney has a good relationship with the prosecuting attorneys and if he/she understands the dynamics of their office well, which in my case would be the LA city attorney's office. So I also tried to make sure my attorney has the best reputation among their office as well. Considering all the above criteria, when I talked to Mr. Dimitry Gorin, he listened to my story very carefully and agreed to help me. I was not very hopeful myself, to be honest, but I felt very comfortable talking to him, he described the possible outcomes and explained his strategy which sounded very reasonable and effective. After talking to him, I became confident that he was the best attorney that I was looking for. I signed the contract with their law firm and started collecting the documents they requested. They immediately began working on my case. Long story short, the prosecutors ultimately decided to reject my case for filing. This means no criminal charges will be even filed against me. This is truly my dream outcome and I could not wish for anything better. Because of this I am very grateful to Mr. Gorin and his team and I will always keep praying for them.

Hired them to do a post-conviction case review (which, to be fair, was decently thorough) and it was supposed to be applied towards any legal work. They ended up wanting to refer us to another counsel after the person whose case it is got upset about the options being presented and expressed this verbally, but not disrespectfully, over the phone to the case manager. They did NOT honor the agreement that the case review investment would be applied to future legal work. They also had another staff member call by proxy to give us this news, rather than having the case manager involved call us directly. This brings up the question: if you can't handle a little heat, how in the world are you going to be fighters in Court? Quick to take the money, but short on empathy or tolerance in understanding people's situations.

Another person posted the pros and cons of this firm and some of them I agree with and some of them I disagree with. The original post is below and at the end I'll give my opinion where I agree and disagree. "Here are the honest PROS and CONS of Spolin Law. READ THIS FIRST if you are thinking of hiring them. PRO: They do criminal law appeals and seem to know this material well. Their posts indicate that cases have multiple attorneys assigned. Always better to have a team of lawyers than just one person. There is an actual support staff helping on cases They have a ton of success stories in the media, so it looks like they can get results. Just google "Spolin Law client walks free" for one example. CON: They are not a generalist firm that can just handle anything, like dui, immigration, suing the government and that type of stuff. They are not a guarantee that you will win. Some firms in other areas of law can guarantee success, like a business incorporation attorney. They don't seem to work for free. A recent law school graduate might be more willing to take on a free case for publicty, but it doesn't seem like they need publicity. This is not the cheap dollar-store option. " I agree with some but not all of this. I agree with most of the general points but I disagree with two things listed here. Disagreement number one is that they say a person can not guarantee success in criminal law but that is not true because you could have a great case and know that you are going to win like the OJ Simpson case where there were five or six expensive lawyers for OJ and they were bound to win from the start if you think about it. Disagreement number two is that you can not rely on other posts to know how many attorneys are assigned to a case, because seeing stuff in the media where there were multiple attorneys does not mean that every case has multiple attorneys.

Put succinctly, she was intelligent, hard working, responsive, and very knowledgeable throughout our time working together. We found Janet Hong through a personal referral and we are so glad we did. My friend's 15-year-old son got charged with robbery for pushing some kid and taking his cell phone. His son is autistic and suffers from severe social anxiety and depression. He was already in counseling and receiving special education through the school, but recently his behavior had gotten worse. Ms. Hong was very sensitive to these issues. She understood what he was going through as a teenager with special needs and knew how to get through to him. In the end, her experience dealing with minors in the juvenile court system came through. She was able to get the case dismissed and sealed. It was such a relief. My cousin was charged with attempted murder in Riverside for allegedly stabbing someone. He was facing life in prison. We could not believe it. We didn’t understand the process and we had no idea what was going to happen to him. My family and I all pitched in to hire Janet Hong to take his case. David Diamond has represented my son and had gone against every principal you try to teach your child with accountability, honesty and integrity. Everything we tried to do as parents to protect and teach your child to do the right thing was thwarted by enablers and David Diamond. We would always tell my son that we love him and he will figure it out one day. He still has to figure things out and to live a productive life in society but he knows now the ones who had his best interest at heart and the enablers. When we tried to get our son into rehab, every effort was to fabricate and make excuses for behavior rather than to acknowledge the behavior and find out why it is occurring. Thank goodness my son does realize that he needs to adjust to society in order to excel in life.....which does not mean you give up your personality and beliefs but you exist where you can be happy and content in life but still follow social rules and guidelines. This will take many more years for my son to learn and David Diamond hindered that along with three enablers who have since apologized for their part in what they have done to lead this child down a path that was not ok. After an unfortunate night of decision making I found myself on the wrong side of the law. I was arrested and my future looked like it was going up in flames. I contacted RJ by phone after reading several other positive reviews and he did not disappoint. Within minutes I had him on the line guiding me through the process. He was honest, clear, reassuring and helped ease the burden of my mistakes. His plan of action worked out precisely as he predicted and I am writing this as a grateful and more importantly, free man. He was easy to reach whenever I needed counsel, translated complicated situations into their most basic format, and he truly just has the presence of a winner which again, will help you through a difficult time. After making one of the worst decisions I've ever made, choosing RJ was one of the best.

Mr. Manuelian is a very candid lawyer, whom will critically analyze every situation to achieve the best outcome. He delivered one of the best outcomes for me, in one of the most harsh courts in LA County (Pomona). Aside of being a lawyer, Mr. Manuelian is human, he cares for his clients and tries to go above and beyond for his clients. Believe me, you are in good hands when you have him on your side. From day one he kept in contact and kept me aware of his communication with the D.A. Most importantly his staff is great and have excellent communication skills. I would like to thank once again Mr Manuelian for all that he has done for me and for the wisdom he shared with me during this process. He is the best lawyer!. Hands down I'm happy I hired him, iwas unsure of myself untill italked with him over the phone over my husband's case, he's straight out has lots of experienced, and knows alot of people..he helped my husband get a plea deal before going to trial..he would always keep me updated with the case if ihad any questions he made me feel okay with asking him a bunch of questions.. Everycase is different cause of prior charges but my husband was facing 4-8 years for gun charge, he got 2years with early release so yes!!!.. I highly recommend him!!!!
