I was referred to Meghan by another attorney. I had been involved in a car accident in 2016, and it was becoming increasingly obvious that I was not improving to a pre-accident level of function. I met with Meghan to fill out the initial paperwork, and for me, it was an amazing experience to have someone not question my limitations. I was very fortunate to be able to reach Meghan when necessary. I know how busy she was, both at work and at home. The car accident case, and the resulting disability, stretched on or *years*, and throughout this process, Meghan was supportive and helpful. She empathized with the difficulties in obtaining some of the medical records. This case was a mammoth undertaking that involved thousands of pages of medical records, insurance forms, doctors’ reports, radiology scans, and receipts. Meghan was also willing and able to coordinate with the lawyer handling the car accident case. Meghan was very clear on “next steps” and what to expect. Not only did Social Security have a significant backlog, but after the global pandemic led to a shutdown, it seemed like everything would be on hold indefinitely. But, Social Security made a miraculous decision to workshare with field offices, and we were able to arrange for a phone hearing with the administrative judge. Meghan referenced minute details from my medical records to hit home the severity of my limitations. Her negotiating skills garnered full approval with substantial backpay, monthly payments and auxiliary benefits for my children. This settlement enabled me to pay off debt, stock emergency savings, and to pay school tuition. Without Meghan’s fierce advocating on my behalf, impeccable preparation and guidance, this case would have gone awry.

As a musician and music teacher, I appreciated the work that Stephen Elville was doing through his non-profit providing instruments to needy students in the Baltimore area. We found ourselves needing assistance with estate planning, in particular concerning our disabled son, and we were not disappointed! We elected to have a Living trust instead of a will, and also set up a special needs trust for our one son. The education and seminars that Elville and Associates provide helped us make the right decisions. Indeed, after you set up trusts, you need to make sure that you re-align your assets to take advantage of the benefits of your trust. Elville has an associate to help you through, and check on your progress in that process, and she does a phenomenal job. They get the second star only because they did "chat" with me twice (using the chat function on their website) and were polite. During the first chat, I described what I needed and asked about their fees, and the response was I'll take this to the team and they will get back to you. They never did, which prompted my second chat asking again. Again, took down the information and said will get back to you...and if we don't, try us on the phone. And again no response whatsoever. But I'm not going to call a firm if somehow things don't get done as promised and I need to call to check up on even a simple thing as a response to a question about their fees for a will. I tried another estate lawyer's office, and I got back an email response within the hour--so I know it can be done! OK, so the low rating did get the firm's attention, and I got an immediate message on my phone and a reply to this initial review. So, responsiveness has improved (hence increase in stars). I did not care for the apology/explanation, however, since they left the phone message yesterday (on Sunday), so less than 24 hours ago, and in their response to this review, they say "I've left voicemail and email messages to you that have not been returned...(never got the email message, not even in spam, unless they're counting this review response as that message)"--so now I'm the unresponsive one??? Plus, still have not responded to my question, just defending their position seemingly for a better review. I was just shopping around to see what the fees would be before I picked an attorney...I realize after this review, I've burnt my bridges with this firm, but that's life...
