It was really insightful going to court and observing different lawyers in action. I watched the judge get annoyed with many lawyers including the prosecution due to their choice of vernacular or from simply being unprepared. I cannot tell you how many times I heard the judge say “I am confused as to what you are trying to tell me." When it was Marks turn to speak on behalf of his clients you could tell he was in a different league. His articulation and preparation made for his cases to go much smoother than other lawyers I witnessed. Even with my limited courtroom experience I could tell having a good rapport with judges and the prosecution is very important. At one point the judge even told Mark that he "trusted him" and listened to Mark’s recommendation for his client. Interacting with this law firm was incredibly exhausting. Attorney Kevin Black conducts himself in a different manner when in front of the courtroom and his peers. Note: if you're going to discuss your outside affairs please don't do it in front of your clients. Beyond Attorney Black's egotism and demeaning manner which was degrading and beyond rude. My divorce case started in 08/18. At the time, I was self representing as I thought I would get a more agreeable settlement with my ex.
